Craft Room

One of my favorite things to do is browse Pinterest.  A couple weeks ago,  I was doing a quick paint job on an old vanity I was going to use in my craft room.  I had no idea what I was going to do with the mirror.  I thought maybe a chalk board or maybe I would not use it at all.  (I apologize for the lack of pictures.  I wasn’t planning on starting a blog when I started this project.)

Browsing Pinterest for ideas to organize my craft supplies, I came upon this idea for organizing paint.

Then, it was like a lightbulb went off in my head, and I had a perfect way to use the mirror for the  vanity.  I already painted the base with a pretty blue chalk paint.  I needed my husbands expertise to attach the mirror to the rest of the vanity.

My husband added a metal bracket to the bottom for me to use as a shelf.  He than measured where the nails would go.  I painted the mirror frame with the same paint used for the base.  After it was dry, I had fun and added the paints.

I used clips for the tubes.  I had a K-Cup holder I was going to throw away, but decided I would use paper clips to add paint too.  The shelf holds liquid watercolor. (It really is my favorite watercolor).  I have gesso and acrylics on the frame.

I ran out of binder and paper clips, so one drawer holds more paint.  My glue gun is in another.  I have more room to keep myself organized.

I am so happy I was able to find a new purpose for this pretty vanity I was given by a good friend.  Every time I look at this I smile and it make me happy.
